Agra Fort is located near the Taj Mahal and was an important Mughal stronghold. Built mainly by Emperor Akbar, it later became the residence of Shah Jahan.

The fort contains palaces, halls, mosques, and towers. From one of its towers, Shah Jahan is believed to have spent his final days looking at the Taj Mahal.
