Khandwa holds great religious importance as it is close to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
The city is also the birthplace of legendary singer Kishore Kumar. Khandwa’s population is approximately 3.5 lakh.
