6. Mausoleum at Halicarnassus – Turkey

Like the Taj Mahal, this was a grand tomb built out of love. Queen Artemisia II built it in memory of her husband, Mausolus, around 350 BC.

Height: 45 meters

Decorated with: Sculptures and carvings

Destroyed: Between the 13th and 15th centuries by earthquakes

Parts of it still survive in museums today.
