3. Statue of Zeus at Olympia – Greece

The Greeks worshipped Zeus, the king of the gods, and built a 12-meter-high statue in Olympia around 435 BC. Made of ivory, gold, and precious stones, it was one of the most impressive statues of ancient times.

Destroyed: Disappeared around the 5th century AD (possibly fire or theft)

Nobody knows exactly what happened to it—it’s still a mystery.
