4. Daeodon – The Terrifying “Hell Pig”

Daeodon was one of the most frightening mammals ever.

• Size similar to a small car
• Massive head compared to its body
• Omnivorous diet (like pigs)

Although it looked like a giant pig, scientists believe its closest living relative may be the hippopotamus.

Daeodon lived in North America around 23–16 million years ago, during a time when giant birds and massive mammals ruled the land. Its extinction reason remains unclear.
